Media Working Group (Lexington, KY)
Back in the 1920s and 30s, there was one promoter of country music that was second only to the Grand Ole Opry—the WLS radio program, National Barn Dance. The radio program, broadcast out of downtown Chicago, began in 1924 and ran until 1960, presenting live music and entertainment to millions of people every Saturday night during its 26-year run.   Read More >

Tulane University/The Shakespeare Festival at Tulane (New Orleans, LA)
After the hurricane season of 2005, New Orleans knew a little something about being “star-crossed,” so it was appropriate that one of the performances by the Shakespeare Festival at Tulane (SFT) in the first season after Hurricane Katrina wreaked its havoc was Romeo and Juliet, held August 3-12, 2006, on Tulane University’s campus. The NEA awarded the university an Access to Artistic Excellence grant of $8,000 for SFT’s production.   Read More >
